I went with the buy one iPhone 6s, get another free deal and got my mom involved. She made me pay half (which was all my life savings). She made a point though, she said that I had technically bought my own phone. So go ahead if you can, buy one it might make you feel special.

oh and get a protection plan don't be like me, I have no protection

6s has a retina display (4k display which is like AMAZING) more options for apps and how you can get into them, and a MUCH better camera from what I've heard
