I'm using a DELL

I use an HP laptop. While it can run some server games lagglessly, it cannot come close to handling SG or anything above that. Singleplayer is also extremely laggy.

that just depends on which HP you have, not all HP computers are like that
If you use an HP Pavilion or older, no.
The newer ones are better.

It really depends. I have a Lenovo laptop, and the only issue I had was when I first got it. It would lag a ton. Then i added some more ram to it, and boom. Pretty flawless on minecraft. Wasn't expensive either.

I say look more onto specs than the brand of the computer.

I have an HP PC, It's actually pretty decent
Although, I get 23 fps without optifine
but with optifine, I get around 40-50 (which is good for me, because it has no lag)
It was awful to play mc at the beginning.

Although, It depends which one you get like Antlo said.
It really depends on the specs. If you're determined to purchase an HP laptop, I'd compare a few you like, and see which has the better price:performance ratio.

Unless it's the HP Omen I would avoid the laptops unless you get a really beefed up specs one. I use an HP 15 that's about 2 years old, have it overclocked 25-30%, and run optifine and I get about 70+fps but my internet is so slow I lag a lot.
