I love the branching out with backgrounds!
A suggestion I have: So you don't have to use exactly straight lines, try turning up your correction. Your lines will become a lot smoother. I'm not sure what you use for an art application, but if you use FireAlpaca (this is what I mainly use so ik this setting xD) there should be a correction setting near the top right to middle.
