Originally it was about rescuing women and children first in times of danger, and later evolved into a standard expected behavior. After all, men have traditionally been more expendable.
I will add Cruiser is historically correct ... but come on guys ... really what girl wouldn’t like their body looked at, please ... and don’t be sexist ... I have no problem holding a door open for a guy and watch a mighty fine male body walk through that doorway ... he says “thank you” and i say “no problem” ... and that’s not horny...
hummm... I don’t recall anyone speaking about being groped or ogled or even being slobbered on! Then you find that there isn’t any reason a guy should hold a door open for a girl... even if he happens to look at her butt as she passes him by ... hummm... interesting! I am just walking through a door, there is no implied pat on the tush or any physical contact other then his private pleasure of seeing the female cross his path. You have other issues sweetie and you work in the working place, if you got all that happening.
A guy can be a gentleman any day for me by holding open a door even if he wants to look... but don’t touch ... np!
and, I believe that is not what we are talking about, that is plain a** rude behavior, but this is not something that is normally said to a girl if a guy happens to hold the door (anywhere) open for her, whether he is wanting too look at her tush or not. There are always jerks... whether male or female, both of you are mentioning jerks, i am not, i am implying the courteous guy who holds a door open for me, whether he has other intentions of looking or not, i will pass through his door and say thank you. Then, if you really do get that comment, you can say “jerk”!
ok first of all the first thing a guy would look at is the chest, and then they'd look at the ass. checking people out is normal but if you know they're checking you out, it's creepy.
