ok i see where u coming from but like....MLK Jr wasn't peaceful at all tho. his protests were aggressive and roadblocky and attention violently calling for attention at the issues at hand.
“We’ve got to camp in – put our tents in front of the White House…We’ve got to make it know that until our problem is solved, America may have many, many days but they will be full of trouble. There will be no rest, there will be no tranquility in this country until the nation comes to terms with our problem.”
“I contend that the cry of “Black Power” is, at bottom, a reaction to the reluctance of white power to make the kind of changes necessary to make justice a reality for the Negro. I think that we’ve got to see that a riot is the language of the unheard. And, what is it that America has failed to hear? It has failed to hear that the economic plight of the Negro poor has worsened over the last few years.“
and my personal favorite:
”First, I must confess that over the past few years I have been gravely disappointed with the white moderate. I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro’s great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen’s Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to “order” than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice; who constantly says: “I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action”; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man’s freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a “more convenient season.” Shallow understanding from people of good will is more frustrating than absolute misunderstanding from people of ill will. Lukewarm acceptance is much more bewildering than outright rejection.“
It's all about circumstances, fighting fire with fire in a social justice sort of way isn't going to get you anywhere, now if you're being attacked and you attack back (literally) that's a diffferent story, wars etc. fighting fire with fire is only to make the flame bigger, and witht he hopes that you will control the flame after, as you now control it's flow. It's an usurpers sort of thing, and it's basically a counter against someone who isn't intelligent enough to properly do what they're doing
Okay but you, as a privileged, 18 y/o white (presumably) straight cis boy, literally can't know at all what it's like to be oppressed in a political or racial sense, so....like....u don't get it.
