Always wondered, what was the exact point at which something is considered NSFW for Enjin? I know I normally tend to be fairly conservative about it to try to be on the safe side of matters.
To allow the older users more options and freedom of posts. There are more 18+ users than what meets the eye. Can't give anymore info than that. For further clarification or detail, you'll need to send a support ticket to get an official response from the Enjin admins.
Interesting feature. Personally I have no use for it but I think it'll be helpful to younger audiences, it'll hopefully prevent them from seeing/reading something they don't need to be looking at.
This idea is honestly not a very smart one. While yes, the extent is only softcore nsfw, I highly doubt that anyone will take this new feature seriously. I don't think the majority of users on this site come here for nsfw content regardless. This feature seems rather pointless. Another concern is what is really stopping people who are underage from saying that they are of legal age? I wouldn't trust many people to not lie about their age to see some softcore nsfw. People do have the option of changing their age in their user settings. Unless there is a way to find out for certain the age of the user, if that's the case, good on ya.
It's just one of those isn't it? Legal formality thingy, or whatever you call it. If you're underage and saw a NSFW content without being warned first, it's the website's fault. If you're underage but still want to see a NSFW content, and they ask you your age and you lie, that's your fault. Enjin wouldn't be held responsible.
Frostwing is right but the problem I see happening is parents forbidding their children from using enjin just because it has a pretty high possibility of sexual content. There isnt going to be a legal problem but I do see severe backlash on what ppl find softcore and hardcore porn. Basically bringing the situation mineplex has with their community (not all but a lot) to the enjin community. Except instead of a one forum ban you can replace that with an enjin wide ban. I really hope this is a test and not something you expect to be permanent. Discord is in a similar situation but has a large adult community to child community ratio compared to that of enjin. Enjin on the other hand you can clearly see how the people under 18 dwarf those 18+
