Hey everyone, I have a topic on my mind that I want to share with you guys as I I've always felt like, being open to people is the best
You might not know what I'm talking about when I'm saying this but, I want to speak about cultural differences, and I'm not speaking about religion, race or sexuality right now. I'm talking about general people and our personality.
Let me hand you an example.
I have experienced for quite a long time now that, if/when I say something, which I find funny but some people doesn't find it funny at all, or just go like "Meh", that's fine. But then there is this small amount of people who gets offended by it, that's fine, no problem there!
However I'm sick and a bit tired of people getting offended by something I say and not, telling me. It's totally fine that you're getting offended, I might have offended you because of my very bad jokes, or because of me being very straight forward when talking with people/you.
And you might be wondering why I'm being so straight forward, or you might wonder why my jokes are so bad, or why I'm being so rude, it's because I'm not, I'm sarcastic, and I'm really sorry for that, but I've grown up like that.
It's because I'm Danish, you should come to Denmark for once and see how much of our humor you understand. Or how much you understand the Danish people in general. Because that can get really hard if you're not used to it, Danish people are sooooo sarcastic, and sometimes, we can actually forget if we were sarcastic or not xD
And this does not only apply to Denmark or Danish only, I can assure you that. It applies to the whole world, but in different ways. We're all different in our way of sensing humor, or where our self-mockery limit is. (And yes, sensing sarcasm over messages is hard)
As jokey as I am, I have to limit myself a lot. I don't know what I can say without hurting someone unintended.
From my point of view, we Danish people do a lot to be polite. And that we are for around 5 minutes when meeting a person, after that we talk as if we had known you for a long time, which is not a problem where I am from. But I've noticed that not many people may not have it the same way, and usually I am right. And it makes it hard for me to judge how I can speak with some people.
My point with this is, keep in mind that cultural differences is a thing. If you get offended, I'd recommend counting to ten and think "Was it really meant to offend?", or, "Was it pointed at me?", "Did they mean it that way?" kinda, you know where I'm heading etc. etc.
Some people may actually intend to hurt you, but most of the times you can see the difference. (If you're open minded, I have no idea who's actually going to read this). And the last thing I want to say is, don't take everything literally. Have some self-mockery in life, it's healthy to laugh at yourself sometimes.
I spend a lot of my day ingame today, if you ever see me make sure to say "Hai Tobi" instead of "HI MOD" cause it can actually confuse me sometimes ;~;
So I have been really inactive the past days because of the fact that I have been on vacation around in the country. We started out the 2nd July and cam home 7 days later, then we went around the country for 3 days, and I'm now home again!
However I am leaving in 1 hour to the other side of the country to visit my aunt and uncle.
If everything goes well, I should be home on Sunday! Then I got 3 weeks of summer break without anything to do, so a lot of my time will go on Mineplex there.
I hope you're all enjoying the summer/sun (sorry UK love you <3) and I will see you in some days :3
