The fact that both of these women are being taken seriously is pissing me off. These women are being put in a place of power though they do not deserve one bit of it. These two have been harassed on the internet, that's it. Anita Sarkeesian claims everything in the gaming industry is either misogynistic or the women are 'damsels in distress'. While the gaming community is more geared towards men, this woman has no clue what she is talking about. Very, very strong women in gaming she just ends up claiming is a sexual object for men. Bayonetta? Created by a woman and from what I heard about the series, she kicks all kinds of ass. Laura Croft? She was shown broken one time and all of a sudden she's not a strong or empowering character. Zoe Quinn is a game developer, if you want to call her that, who pretty much used a man she was in a relationship with for a good review on her 'game' allegedly. Which by the way is just text based and pretty bad from what I have read from reviews. These women are both third wave feminists, yes the kind who think all men are misogynistic assholes who don't deserve an opinion. *eye roll* They keep claiming men are sending them these threats, when gender has nothing to do with the threats. Though I do not believe anyone deserves to have their information put out on the internet or deserve to be threatened, I absolutely loathe what these women stand for. Anita clearly does not play the games she talks about since her claims are based on clips of games taken completely out of context. Zoe Quinn on the other hand, I dislike her solely on the fact she, like Anita, is trying to get censorship over the internet. So if you ever say something bad about someone or disagree, they pretty much want to censor your voice. Not to mention they pretty much created this mob mentality where if you're not with them, you're against them. I'm all for feminism, all for men and women being treated equally, but when women like this start showing up thinking they're superior and that all men are pigs, yeah no, they can fuck off. I dislike this third wave feminism bullshit. Women are not superior to men, I believe if a woman can hit a man he can sure as hell hit back(Mind you, I mean if a woman provokes a man and slaps him, he can hit back), and I absolutely despise people who try to play off that the gaming industry is not for women or men harass women out of getting into video games. I grew up on videogames, I've gotten talked shit to by men and I talked shit back, and not once did any bad interactions in a game make me not want to play games any longer.
Blehhhh that was long, sorry wanted to get that off my chest. This so called 'feminism' nowadays rubs me the wrong way.
