I feel like I need to explain exactly how one achieves Staff ranks here on Eoscraft. Lately I've been hearing about rumours that the only reason I am an Admin (or staff in general) is because I know Scraggy_Sam in real life. This is, quite frankly, not the case.
In order to join the staff team you must submit a Moderator application. Each S-Mod, Admin and S-Admin then discusses what they know about you, if you'll make a good member of the team, and votes. On my Moderator application Scraggy specifically abstained because we know each other IRL.
To be promoted to S-Mod you must display consistent positive behavior. You must be familiar with all of the essential Mod commands and fulfill staff requirements (such as getting your comments in on Ban Appeals promptly and logging on often). Then, at a staff meeting, another staff member might choose to nominate you for promotion to S-Mod, in which case the team discusses if you are ready. If so, an Admin promotes you to S-Mod.
Mods and S-Mods are chosen by the staff team as a whole. Admins, however, are a different story. Admins are ONLY chosen by Doug and by Doug alone. Members of the Admin team might make a suggestion or nominate a potential Admin from the S-Mod crew to Doug, but it is Doug who chooses based on a number of factors, including performance as an S-Mod, activity on the server and the forums, the right attitude and beliefs that fit with our server goals (family friendly server, etc.) and so on and so forth.
In summary, I'm putting these rumors to rest. Scraggy had absolutely zero say in my promotion to Mod, S-Mod or Admin. Each and every member of the staff team has earned their ranks and our current team is one of the best that I've ever seen in my six months as staff. Every single member of our team, every Mod, S-Mod, Admin and S-Admin has their rank because either the team or Doug believes, rightly so, that they have *earned* that position through hard work and dedication to our server.

I just got home after visiting with PyramidEmpress for 11 days! It was our first meeting in person and it was awesome! Now I'm missing her :( but we still have Skype until our next meeting though!
I drove up to visit (about a five hour drive) and was there February 14th through the 24th. It was my first visit, first time we met in real life! We met here on Eoscraft a few months ago, talked a lot in Mumble and then more on Skype video calls. Then we decided to meet. It was awesome ^_^
I was just reminded tonight of a community I used to be a part of in Star Wars Galaxies. Specifically, some of them have gotten back together in The Old Republic, and seeing that hit me with an odd sensation. A feeling of separation, jealousy and a desire to go, but... that's the past.
Amazing how attractive returning to your past ways can be when it flies past you. Amazing how lousy it can make you feel, knowing you've become a different man than you were before. But Eoscraft is where I am now. This is where I am devoted and dedicated, and you are all my online family now. It's almost a release, isn't it, to have the option to deliberately say no to your old ways?
