My teacher forced me to write my mom a poem for mother's day. Any ideas/potential revisions?
Well, I know that we've never been together long, the hospital being the great wall of family.
You may yell at Dad and I in your sleep, but I know you don't mean what you say.
Our life may be a big mixture of calamity,
But we've mostly dealt with the emotional debts we must pay.
You may at times be a rock in the path, but all rocks could be a stepping stone to something greater.
You've dealt with my messes, I've yelled for Dad to take you to the hospital.
It was just a couple weeks ago when you saw the long-board and instantly wanted to become a skater.
You defend the house from door to door salesmen, especially when their sales tactics are hostile.
We both know that the situation isn't normal,
But you attempt to make up with it by making food that I've graciously eaten.
We've argued about what is fair and moral,
But I wrote you this poem, I'd say we'll just call it even.
