Why is everyone saying "rip mineplex"?
And sometimes, comedy shows us reality. Kind of sad, isn't it?
I don't understand how people will very easily accuse Trump of being racist and such because of his rally speeches, but then utterly refuse to believe that Trump gave out that victory speech. They keep trying to deny it one way or the other, such as "you can't believe everything he says." If you can't believe everything he says, then why do you believe in his "racist" speeches? If you can't believe everything he says, then why do you think he's going to deport all illegal immigrants? If anything, using the "you can't believe Trump" card only portrays and highlights your precariously anti-Trump sentiment, which I do share but not to such an extent.
In the victory speech, Trump directly implied that every "bad" thing he said on stage was not really what he was going to do. He calls upon "Americans from all races, religions, backgrounds and beliefs who want and expect our government to serve the people." Do you really think he'd be sucking up to "all races" and "backgrounds" if he were actually vehemently against Muslims and Mexicans? I believe that he would have pointedly said "maybe not Muslims and Mexicans" if he genuinely hated them, but he didn't. His victory speech was heartfelt and non-aggressive. For a shouting man who can't stop insulting Clinton, you'd think he'd go all out in his victory speech. But he didn't. He congratulates veterans, he promises to rebuild the American dream, he promises everything this nation wanted or needed ever since the American dream fell to pieces. If he were "blunt and honest" in his campaign, he would also be "blunt and honest" in his victory speech. This is why I'm so inclined to believe that Trump is actually not a racist, bigot, or however else you make him out to be. If anything, I feel bad for the man because he drew the world's hatred to him just so that he could get in a position where he wouldn't have to work so hard to get even the smallest spotlight in the public's eye.
Dig around a bit, Trump said himself that bad publicity was better than no publicity some time ago. He was most likely using his own advice and was trying to get into the presidential election to, in his own way, "make America great again." While I don't respect the method, if his presidency turns out good you have to respect the man for playing with all of us just to be able to help us. To be frank, though, I'm in the belief that some of us are beyond helping, or even saving.
Did Trump seriously get enough electoral votes to win the election?

I found out that the creators of To the Moon are making an episode two (Finding Paradise) and I'm honestly so relieved and saddened (can't find the right word for it). I'm not sad as in "oh, they're making another game," but I guess it's just the anticipation that the next episode will be just as telling as the first. I don't want to raise the bar for it too high, but I can't help it. The masterpiece that is To the Moon will always remain in my heart as one of the few things that I actually enjoy as emotional storytelling RPGs.
I don't understand the whole high school grade hierarchy. People make juniors and seniors sound so much more sophisticated and mature than the freshmen and sophomores, and it's really not the case at all.
Contrary to certain beliefs, telling people to not do something because it is offensive to you or it "might be offensive" to people "like you" is a form of censorship on a local level, especially if the actions are not specifically addressed to you or is intended to harm you. Certain "offensive" jokes are not funny because they're offensive, but because they are used in such an ironic way that you understand that it's poking fun at the institutions that enact the offensive material. The inability to separate irony/sarcasm from literal meaning is very dangerous and is exactly what can lead to the eventual restriction of free speech. Jokes, actions, and all manners of language are free speech. I might not agree with the KKK member next door, but for so long that they do not encourage widespread violence, attempt to release private information of another person or other people, or break the law, they are entitled to their speech as a conduit and means of expression. Does that sound screwed up? I agree, it kind of does. However, the minute I tell them to not do what they do as if I'm sort of authoritative figure, I am essentially denying them of their identity, speech, and freedoms.
If you cannot understand the beauty of the liberty of free speech and attempt to use your free speech to impede on others' free speech, you are not an ally of freedom or liberty. You are not acting for the liberation of whatever oppressed group you are trying to be a spokesperson for. You are only supporting a social dictatorship built on your ideas.
Additional note: I mean, if someone says something offensive directly to you, by all means tell them you don't want it said to you. However, it's not the fault of the other person if they happen to trigger your past trauma because you were nearby and they didn't notice you. It's not the fault of the other person if they want to share something with someone else and you decided to walk in. You cannot fault someone for something they don't have control over.
